Detailed Case Assessments

This is an examination involving looking at all presenting problems including those which you may not be aware of, identifying the variety of solutions available. In particular we will consider the advantages and disadvantages of all treatment options together with the costs.

This also includes a written report.

Laser detection of decay

Modern technology allows us to detect dental decay at very early stages by reflecting a laser on the tooth surface.

Early detection allows early, less invasive treatments. This is routinely used by Dr Ryan on child patients.

Healozone

Healozone is a new and revolutionary treatment for early dental decay. It works by covering a decayed area with ozone gas which is able to kill the bacteria responsible for dental decay within seconds. It is of particular value in the treatment of children. It is not a panacea but used in judiciously occasionally in conjunction with air abrasion can produce excellent results with the minimum of trauma.

Maximum benefit is achieved when early diagnosis is made (see laser detection). This treatment is not available on the NHS.

Cosmetic work

A wide variety of options exist from bleaching teeth to reconstructing a severely traumatised mouth because dentistry is now a combination of State of the Art technology and individual artistry. We would be happy to discuss with you in detail any cosmetic changes you may be considering.

Implants

Implants are perhaps the most exciting introduction I have witnessed in my professional life.  In essence when a tooth is lost it can be replaced using titanium screw on to which is fixed a crown, bridge abutment or denture. Technology has advanced to a point where we are able to take a 3D radiograph (a CT scan) and plan the surgery on the computer, thus avoiding vital structures. From the computer plan a drill guide can be fabricated to accurately place our implants.

Unlike any other form of treatment dental implants last a life time.

If you are interested in having implants or would like to chat to someone about the options available to you, please feel free to contact the surgery to book in for a consultation appointment
