| Lavender Close Training Centre Lavender Close Training Centre welcomes all nurses to study and prepare for the NEBDN Diploma in Dental Nursing. This course was newly set up due to the high demand since June 2008 when all Dental Nurses in the UK must have a qualification. In November 2011 our first students sat the examination and we were extremely pleased with our 80% pass rate. About the Tutors The course is privately run by two experienced and qualified Dental Nurses and a highly experienced Dental Surgeon, who has been qualified for over 30 years. About the Course The course is open to all Dental Nurses who want to study towards the examination to gain the Diploma in Dental Nursing. The course will cover all aspects of the work which Dental Nurses would be expected to be familiar with (a copy of the Syllabus is available on request). It will also provide students with Record of Experience support. To gain the Diploma in Dental Nursing, you must be employed as a trainee dental nurse and you need to complete the Record of Experience as well as pass the examination which consists of a written paper and an OSCE examination. Our Syllabus complies with the Dental Nurse curriculum developed by the General Dental Council (GDC) and the National Examining Board for Dental Nurse (NEBDN). The syllabus is currently being reviewed by the GDC to compliment the new style of examination, however the content is remaining the same. The examination is largely based on the students being able to apply the knowledge that they have learnt in a practical setting. We offer a wide range of facilities for students to use, including a fully stocked library and internet access. We also welcome students to arrange private tutoring should they feel they need any extra help. This will be a one on one basis, but will be at extra cost per session FAQ How long is the course? The course will run for 9 months and will start in March and students will aim to sit the exam for November of the same year. Is there an Entry Level? No. Anyone can take the course however the examination cannot be taken until they are in employment. How does the course work? The course will be run one evening session a week. Students will be expected to attend each session. If sessions cannot be attended, prior notice must be given so work can be handed out appropriately. The course will consist of everything that you need to pass the examination, including Record of Experience support, theoretical and practical lessons and homework to help structure the learning process. How much is the course? The total cost of the course is £950.00 The price of the course includes all text books that you will require and includes your record of experience. However it does not include the price of the examination, this will need to be paid for on application for the exam. What do I do next? If you are interest in attending the course or have any further questions please feel free to call us on 01634 864153 and speak to either Gemma or Verity.
